Herbalistek
Herbalistek (ハーバリステック）とは東京を拠点に活動するプロデューサー／DJデュオである。
彼らはダークでディープなBass Musicに重点を置き、そのサウンドデザインの実験性と、絶えず変化しながらも一貫したグルーヴ性ある音楽で知られている。
Techno、Dubstep、Trap、Downtempoなど様々なジャンルからインスピレーションを得た彼らのDJセットは、濁った低音と鮮やかなサウンドスケープの両方を織り交ぜ、変則的なサイケデリック体験を生み出している。
Herbalistekの目標は、日本のベース・ミュージック・シーンをリードし、その基盤を築き、実験的なBass Musicを通してポジティブな経験を世界中に生み出すことである。
オリジナルトラックを使用しながら、複雑なリズムを駆使し、Herbalistekは難解でありながら奇妙に親しみやすいサウンドを確立し続けている。
Herbalistekは、Bassrush、Spicybois、Quality Goods Records、Wormhole Music Group、Wubaholics、そして日本を代表するダンス・ミュージック・レーベルTREKKIE TRAXなど、様々なレーベルからもリリースしている。また、UZのレーベルQuality Goods Recordsでは、オーストラリア人プロデューサーのOskiなど、名の知れたアーティスト達とのコラボレーションも行っている。
2024年には、日本を代表するヴォーカル·ポップ·グループ、THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBEの楽曲、「SILVER RAIN」をユニットの公式ベストアルバム「16PRAY」にてオフィシャルリミックスとしてリリースもしている。
2人は2019年、EDC JapanのDiscovery Projectで選出され、世界的トップアーティストたちとともにメインステージの枠を獲得したことで、大きな評価を得た。2022年のUltra Japan Music Festivalでは、Allen MockとのB2Bセットで出演。その他にもRe:birth、Matricaria、Mycelium、Subculture、Harukaze、Meeting Pointなど幅広く国内フェスへの出演を果たしている。
2024年夏には、日本最大の野外音楽イベント、Fuji Rock Festivalでデビューを飾り、活躍の場をさらに広げた。Day Dreaming Stageに出演した彼らは、TREKKIE TRAX、Daruma & Jommyをはじめとする、日本のエレクトロニックミュージックシーンで活躍を果たしているアーティスト達と同じ舞台での披露を果たした。
Herbalistekは世界的なステージでも大きく前進している。2019年5月、彼らはオーストラリアを代表するアンダーグラウンド・クラブChinese Laundryでデビューし、Quality GoodsなどのTrap / Hybrid Trap Tracksで知られるアーティスト、Oskiのサポートを務めた。
その後Chinese Laundry ではゲストとして２度目の出演を2019年１月に果たし、国内から国外へと活動範囲を広めることとなった。
2024年5月、世界トップクラスのアーティスト達を招いてきた会場、Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park （フロリダ）で開催された‘The Rendezvous’ でUSAデビューを果たした。
高名な作曲家·DJのTipperを始め、Jade Cicada、Detox Unit、Resonant Language、 Mickman等、アメリカのベースミュージックシーンで活躍しているアーティスト達との共演を実現している。
Herbalistekはまた、東京のアンダーグラウンド・ベース・ミュージック・シーンに光を当てることに焦点を当てた、独自のイベント’SECTOR’を企画。彼らのミックス・シリーズにちなんで制作されたイベントはこれまで3度開催された。
第二部では、日本のダブステップ界の重鎮OGであるGOTH TRADをスペシャルゲストに迎え、Sound Museum Visionで開催。
第三部では、東京で最も定評のある会場のひとつであるWOMBにて、日本で最も広く尊敬されているDJ そしてプロデューサーであるDJ KRUSHをスペシャルゲストに迎い入れた。
Herbalistek is a Producer/ DJ duo based in Tokyo, Japan.
With an emphasis on dark, deep bass music, the duo are known for their sound design experimentations and continuously shifting yet consistent grooves.
Drawing inspiration from multiple genres such as Techno, Dubstep, Trap, and Downtempo their DJ sets weave through both murky bass and vibrant soundscapes to create an anomalous psychedelic experience.
Their goal is to lead and build a foundation for the bass music scene of Japan and create positive experiences through experimental bass music around the world.
Using original tracks, intricate transitions, and trippy rhythms, Herbalistek have continued to establish their esoteric yet strangely familiar sound.
Herbalistek has also released through various labels, including Bassrush, Spicybois, Quality Goods Records, Wormhole Music Group, Qualia, Wubaholics and Japan’s leading Dance Music Label TREKKIE TRAX. They have also featured collaborations with some of the biggest names in Trap music such as Australian producer Oski on UZ’s label Quality Goods Records.
In 2024, the duo debuted their remix of ‘SILVER RAIN’ by THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, a prominent vocal pop group in Japan. This remix was featured in the group’s official Best Album, ‘16PRAY,’ showcasing the duo’s innovative approach to a different musical genre.
Herbalistek has made substantial contributions to Japan’s local music scene by supporting some of the most prominent names in bass music. They have played key roles as direct support for major artists such as G Jones (2024), Hamdi (2024), Ivy Lab (2023), Ternion Sound (2022), and Alison Wonderland during her Wonderland Warehouse Project Tour (2019). Additionally, they supported DJ KRUSH on his latest album tour「再生 -Saisei-」,in Tokyo (2024), further cementing their influential presence in Japan’s vibrant music landscape.
The duo gained significant recognition by winning the 2019 Discovery Project for EDC Japan, securing a mainstage slot alongside top global artists. Their prominence was further solidified in 2022 with a standout B2B set with Allen Mock at Ultra Japan Music Festival, showcasing their dynamic presence. Herbalistek’s influence extended across Japan’s electronic music scene, highlighted by performances at domestic festivals including Re:birth, Matricaria, Mycelium, Subculture, Meeting Point and more…
In 2024, Herbalistek further expanded their reach with a powerful debut at Fuji Rock Festival, Japan’s biggest outdoor music event. Performing on the Day Dreaming Stage, they shared the spotlight with leading names in Japan’s electronic scene, including Trekkie Trax, Daruma & Jommy.
Herbalistek has also made significant strides on the global stage. In May 2019, they made their debut at Chinese Laundry, one of Australia’s most iconic underground clubs, where they supported Oski, best known for his Trap / Hybrid Trap Tracks from Quality Goods and more. Their return to Chinese Laundry in January 2019 for a second guest appearance, further underscored their growing international presence.
Their U.S. debut came in May 2024 at ‘The Rendezvous’ in Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, Florida. Renowned for its legacy of showcasing top-tier global talent, the event featured acclaimed composer and DJ Tipper, alongside a lineup of esteemed bass music artists including Jade Cicada, Detox Unit, Resonant Language, and Mickman. In September 2024, they played their second show in the United States at Infrasound Equinox, a renowned bass music festival held in Minnesota. This lineup included artists such as Youngsta, Distinct Motive, Eazybaked, Ternion Sound, Drone and more.
Herbalistek has also curated their very own event, focused on shining light on the underground bass music scene of Tokyo. The event titled “SECTOR” named after their mix series, has been hosted three times, receiving praise throughout the Tokyo dance music scene and community. Sector Part II welcomed the esteemed GOTH TRAD, an undisputed heavyweight OG in the realm of Japanese dubstep, as a special guest at the esteemed Sound Museum Vision.
Continuing their ascent, Part III has featured the illustrious DJ KRUSH, widely regarded as one of the most revered DJ Turntablists and Producer of our era. Taking center stage at the prestigious WOMB.
